the waitomo caves of new zealand’s northern island, formed two million years ago from the surrounding limestone bedrock, are home to an endemic species of bioluminescent fungus gnat (arachnocampa luminosa, or glow worm fly) who in their larval stage produce silk threads from which to hang and, using a blue light emitted from a modified excretory organ in their tails, lure in prey who then become ensnared in sticky droplets of mucus.
THIS MAKES ME SO HAPPY IN MANY WAYS
“Knowing that he wouldn’t be there for her wedding, a terminally ill father walked his 11-year-old down the ‘aisle’ years early with the pastor sweetly pronouncing them ‘daddy and daughter’.
Jim Zetz, 62, from Murrieta, California, who has stage 4 pancreatic cancer, proudly held his daughter, Josie’s hand during their backyard ceremony on March 14 and placed a sparkling ring on her index finger.”
INNALILLAHI WAINNA ILAIHI ROJIUN
Let us join the world in grief as we pray for all those who have lost their lives in the tragedy of MH370.
And to Allah belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth,
and Allah is over all things competent,
He knows what penetrates into the earth and what emerges from it
and what descends from the heaven and what ascends therein;
and He is with you wherever you are,
Verily, all that has happened is by the will of Allah,
Ya Allah, we seek your mercy, we seek your forgiveness,
Protect them all, Ya Allah,
And grant their families all the strenght and patience they need
to go through this very difficult time.
Ya Allah, we shall all continue to raise our hands and make duaa,
regardless of our race and colour.
Pulanglah kepada Sang Pencipta. Berdamailah kalian di sana.
Ya Allah, there is no ease other than what you make easy,
if you please, you ease sorrow.
One tragedy that has brought millions of hearts as one. One tragedy that has made us all unite in prayers for the sake of Allah. One tragedy that has made us all closer to Him. Allahuakbar.
